Maximise - March 09 Business Newsletter
Maxnet’s big news in March 2009 was our brand new website, data centre power upgrade and also a follow-up comment on our ratings as one of NZ’s top 3 ISPs.
New Maxnet Website
Maxnet's new website went live in March 09 with a brand new look & feel plus a content and navigation system overhaul. Our intention is to make important information on our site easier to find and generally freshen up our on-line presence.
Don't hesitate to give us feedback on the new site – email website@maxnet.co.nz. We’re more than happy to receive suggestions to improve the usability and usefulness of the site.
$1.5m "B" Power Upgrade Completed
Maxnet's Internet Data Centre (IDC) $1.5m mains power supply upgrade has been completed.
The facility now has a 2 MVA mains supply - 1MVA on its "A" power supply into the building, and 1MVA on its "B" power supply. We have 3 backup generators with enough backup diesel generation to power a town the size of Te Anau.
Each of Maxnet's 2 mains power supplies has its own 1MVA transformer, set of power boards, cabling, 500kVA UPS, and back-up diesel generator thus providing Maxnet’s High Availability customers with a true 2N power supply system.
It is one of the most advanced and reliable IDC power systems available in NZ. The power and cooling infrastructure is scalable and designed with future growth in mind.
So in summary we provide:
- Power and cooling for up to 30kW draw per High Availability server cabinet – about 10 times the capability of conventional data centres.
- True 2N power supply system to underpin our 99.99% uptime guarantee in our High Availability Colocation Suite.
Consequently we welcome high density equipment, such as blade server enclosures & virtualised environments where uptime is critical. The higher the density the better, as far as we’re concerned.
Our investment in the data centre’s network and systems is ongoing – we have earmarked a further $1m this year for additional enhancements.
Maxnet Ranked Among Top Three ISPs
Consumer.org.nz conducted a nationwide survey of customers late last year to rank NZ ISPs in terms of customer satisfaction levels. Maxnet ranked among the top three with a customer satisfaction rating of 93%!
On average we are now answering more than 70-75% of DSL related calls within 60 seconds, and even offer a money back guarantee if we fail to meet our "Business Plus Broadband" response targets. For our Premium customers, the response targets being met are 90%. Read more.........
