Maxnet Image Backup provides the simplest, lowest overhead backup solution available for backing up your virtual machine(s) and the fastest possible restore option to get you back up and running after a catastrophic failure

Maxnet Image Backup provides a managed disk-to-disk backup service that removes the reliance on traditional on-site tape or removable hard drive backup systems.

Full daily copies of your entire virtual machine image are taken daily and stored offsite in a secure and remote location. Your virtual machine can then be restored as an entire image, greatly decreasing the time taken for a traditional restored process.

Tech Specs

Maxnet Image Backup uses the same proven enterprise backup solution as Maxnet Online Backup. Maxnet Image Backup uses changed-block-tracking and deduplication to backup only changed data on your virtual machine and remove redundant sub-file data segments at the source before data is transferred across the network and stored on the backup grid.

This improves the speed of daily full backups and reduces the amount of backup data stored to protected your machine. All backup data is encrypted in flight and the backup grid is only accessible by dedicated links or via an exclusive access list of approved client sites and servers.

Deduplication

Source based deduplication ensures the same data is never backed up twice, significantly reducing the amount of data that needs to be transferred during backups. Network utilisation is reduced by up to 85% in comparison with traditional backup solutions. Backups occur faster, completing within shorter backup windows.

Storage

Each physical server in our Backup Grid runs a RAID disk array. In additional to this, RAIN (Redundant Array of Independent Nodes) technology writes the data between multiple backup servers, so if any node fails, it can be replaced and all the data on it can be restored from the other backup servers.

Image Backups

Maxnet Image Backup uses VMware APIs for Data Protection (VADP) which manages the process of creating a snapshot of your virtual machine and removing it once a backup copy is taken directly of the storage platforms in our VMware environment.

Online Backup

Maxnet Image Backup technology can also be used to protect your servers that aren't Maxnet VPS servers with our Maxnet Online Backup service. This allows you to use traditional agents to backup specific applications such as databases.
