Features
Offsite Storage
SAll backup data is written to disk, then to tape and stored in a secure dedicated data vault, geographically separated from where your servers are hosted.
Secure
Stored data cannot be accessed by non- Maxnet staff members and requires a pass-key to be retrieved. All tapes are stored in a secure tape vault.
Rapid Restores
We store a copy of backed-up data on our near-line storage devices for the period you specify so we can quickly restore your data in emergencies.
Fully Managed
We supply all necessary expertise to manage the whole backup process for you. Our staff monitor backup schedules to ensure that backups are successfully completed.
Tech Specs
Maxnet Data Centre Backup utilises enterprise backup technology, which provides an agent-based service incorporating disk-to-disk to tape technology. Specific application agents are installed on your servers to offer varying degrees of granularity ranging from operating systems and files to per transaction backups for databases.
Disk-to-disk-to-tape
Your data is initially backed-up disk-to-disk to our near- line storage devices allowing for faster backup and restore times. Once the initial backup has been made to the near-line storage device, it is then streamed to back-up tapes in our tape library.
Dedicated Network
Optionally you can use of our out-of-band backup network keeps backup traffic off your standard data connection. This ensures that back-up traffic has no impact on your server’s primary connection to the outside world and provides gigabit speeds to the backup servers.
Secure and offsite
Backup tapes are rotated by our staff and then shipped offsite to a remote secure data vault for storage. Tapes are rotated daily and shipped between the data vault and our tape library according to a best practice schedule.
